SAN MARCOS, TX (September 18th, 2007) – The Hot Tamales Rock-N-Ride College Wakeboard Tour comes to Texas State University in San Marcos on Saturday, September 29th. It’s the fifth and final stop of the series which has already visited Syracuse University, University of North Carolina, Vanderbilt University and the University of Cincinnati. This event is FREE to the public and will take place in the shadows of Bobcat Stadium located at 1100 Aquarena Springs Drive.
The development of the high-speed, gas-powered winch is one of the newest and most exciting progressions in wakeboarding's young history. It has given riders, who are pulled by winches, the ability to take their sport to the streets with the use of portable pools, separated by rails and sliders. Called a Pool-Gap or a Rail Jam, this is action sports up-close and in-your-face and it’s as exciting for the riders as it is for spectators.

WINTER HAVEN, FL. (August 16, 2007) – It was a winner-take-all format that pitted the top pro wakeboard teams battling it out in three disciplines – double-up contest, boat competition and rail jam – all with one common goal…to win! When it was all said and done, the boys from Team Hyperlite came from behind to take home the big check and more importantly…bragging rights for the next twelve months!
The inaugural Malibu Pro Team Challenge took place August 10th and 11th just outside of Orlando, Florida at a location that is world-renowned as a premiere water-ski show facility, Cypress Gardens Adventure Park. Three manufacturers anted up the $5000 entry fee – Liquid Force, Hyperlite and CWB – and Indmar Marine, who provides the power for Malibu’s award winning boats, threw in another $5K to make up the $20,000 purse.
Each team was allowed three riders per event and the first round of each event featured three heats with a rider from each team competing. Riders were awarded points on an escalating scale as they made their way through the semi-finals, the finals and to the podium spots. The team that accumulated the most points throughout the weekend would take home twenty grand.

DALLAS, TX. (July 23rd, 2007) – The Monster Energy Drink was flowing, the wakeboarders were flying high and the crowds were cheering wildly as some of the top wakeboarders in the state of Texas descended on Dallas Market Hall this past weekend for the Monster Energy Wakeboard Rail Jam. It was the featured attraction of the all new Outdoor Expo Area at the 22nd Annual Dallas Summer Boat Show.
The “Monster” set-up was provided by Orlando based Step-Up Productions who lived up to their name by building an impressive three pool course that included a forty foot rail coming out of a raised starting pool twelve feet off the ground into a huge sixty-by-thirty foot landing pool. They also had a ground level pool with a kicker over a fifteen foot gap to the landing pool.
“We created the new Outdoor Expo area to bring a little added excitement to the summer show”, said Frank Pillsbury, Marketing Director for the Boat Show. “The goal was to give consumers even more reasons to attend the show by providing added features that are fun for the whole family…and it worked!”

AUSTIN, TEXAS (May 2007) - On Saturday, May 12th, the Texas Wakeboard Tour returned to Austin, Texas for the 2nd Annual Longhorn Rail Jam presented by Malibu Boats and Nissan North America. This pool-gap rail jam event took place in the middle of Austin’s notorious party strip – 6th Street. This was the biggest contest of last year’s TWT series and this years event was equally well received!
The crowd of curious on-lookers started to gather early in the evening to see what would be taking place in the two huge portable pools that stretched across an entire city block. The set-up, provided by Dallas based Ridin Rails, featured two fifty foot pools filled with over 30,000 gallons of water. The pools were separated by a forty foot kinked rail along side the new Monster Energy rail which towered five feet above the platform and over eight feet above the street. The event was pulled by a high-speed Grinch winch.
