Terry Bell, the MasterCraft Chief Operating Officer, recently passed away after a battle with a serious medical condition. Bell, who has been with the company since 1997, has left a legacy of true leadership, pushing MasterCraft to the highest standards of innovative research & development, quality boat-building and manufacturing best practices that have often been emulated throughout the marine industry.
"To say Terry was a key figure in MasterCraft's success over the last 10 years would be an immense understatement," says John Dorton, President and CEO. "When he arrived at our doors, we were building about 8 models and only producing around 2000 boats a year. Now we have 25 different models, we build nearly 4000 units a year and our boats are built better than ever - thanks largely to Terry's efforts. But most of us will remember Terry for his gracious demeanor, gentle spirit and bright outlook and how he cared deeply for this company, our staff, our dealers and our customers. We were blessed to know him and we will miss him."

DALLAS, TEXAS (February 12, 2007) – The 2nd Annual Boardshorts, Bulls and Bikini’s pro wakeboard rail jam, presented by Malibu Boats, was definitely the highlight event surrounding the Dallas Winter Boat Show. It was stop number one of the 2007 Texas Wakeboard Tour and it took place last Saturday night at Gilley’s Honky-Tonk just south of downtown Dallas.
Several top pro and local riders gathered at the boat show at Dallas Market Hall on Saturday afternoon for a meet and greet with local water sports fans. They also went head-to-head with some of the local crowd playing Shaun Murray’s Wakeboarding Unleashed video game. The top scoring fan took home an Omega Wakeboard and bindings – courtesy of Liquid Force.
At 6:00pm, the riders all headed a few minutes down the road to Gilley’s to participate in the rail jam, followed by a round of bull-riding on Gilley’s legendary mechanical bull. The rail jam kicked-off at around 7:30pm and although there was a chill in the air, it was at least 20 degrees warmer then last years winter freeze that left ice on the rail. The pool and rail set-up, provided by Dallas based Ridin Rails, was much larger for 2007 and included a new thirty-five foot monster rail that towered five feet above the slider platform and a good eight feet off the ground. The set-up also included a thirty-five foot kinked rail.

Well, it seems as though I pulled a classic "Duh" over the past few weeks. Over the holidays, I moved BoardJIVE to a new hosting company. Now, moves should be transparent to all but, this is really a complex process and sometimes things can fall through the cracks.
Well, it did on my end. Little did I know that over the past 4 weeks, BoardJIVE was operating across two hosting accounts! Yikes. To keep the techie out of this topic for now, I have finally made the necessary changes to the site and all should be operating correctly.
If you have tried to post to the forums or upload since Xmas and got an error, it should be fixed now.
One treat that I'm thinking about bringing to BoardJIVE is a social networking function like MySpace. I'll put up a poll and get some feedback on this cool feature. I know that it has the potential to bring riders together like no other wakeboarding site out there!
Click the comments link below and let me know what you think!
Regards,
Eric

ABILENE, TX – November 7, 2006 – Tino Santori, TeamTigé rider for six years running, was named the “King of Wake” at the Tigé Pro–Am Wakeboard Championship in Marathon, Florida Keys. The culmination of the nine wakeboarding events for the season, the Tigé Pro-Am is the final stop for riders to gain enough points for the prestigious title.
With 1,340 points, Santori is now considered the world’s number 1 rider for 2006. A talented, hard working professional rider for the last few years, Santori’s victory did not come as a surprise to many, let alone his biggest fans.
“Tino’s dad, Sandy, and I, could not be prouder of our son. Finishing high school, moving out on his own four years ago to pursue his dream and coming this far is amazing,” Tino’s mother, Sue Santori said. “There have been great joys and devastating losses, but he continued to work hard, ride hard and fight hard. This is such an honor for Tino because it shows his dedication to the sport. He continues to make us proud.”

ABILENE, TX – November 6, 2006 – For the second year in a row, the Tigé Pro–Am Wakeboard Championships had another fan–filled event in Marathon, Florida Keys this past weekend. Over 4,000 spectators filled Sombrero Beach to partake in the festivities and watch the top performers in the industry compete.
The event featured eight divisions of water sports: Pro Men, Pro Woman, Junior Men, Pro Wakeskate, Amateur Wakeskate, Amateur Boys, Amateur Women, Open Men’s division and a skins format for the Pro Men division. Tigé included the first ever “skins competition” during the 2005 Pro–Am. This popular tradition continued into this year as well. In addition to cash prizes awarded to overall contest winners, the skins format allows riders in the Pro Men’s division to win more money for finishing first in every heat.
Tigé fans and water enthusiasts braved the strong Florida wind and rain for much of the event. For most, seeing their favorite athletes riding behind a brand–new 2006 24 Vé was enough of a draw. “The newly redesigned 2006 24Vé is a beautiful machine,” spectator Darren Stanch said. “Talented riders like Erik Ruck held their own in the rough water and the way that boat handled through the tough water chop and winds was unbelievable.”
