POLK CITY, Fla. - Five athletes won titles Saturday at BoardUp! Miami, Miami’s first premier Pro-Am Wakeboard Championship, at the Miami Marine Stadium in Miami, Fla. Phillip Soven (Longwood, Fla.) was the big winner at the event clinching the title in Pro Men and taking home the $10,000 cash prize. The tournament, sanctioned by USA Wakeboard, featured some of the world’s top wakeboarders competing for more than $17,000 in cash prizes. Male and female riders competed in divisions, including 13 and under, 14 to 18, Open Amateur and Pro.
“Miami was the place to be this weekend to see wakeboarding’s top professional and amateur riders compete for titles at BoardUp! (Miami, FL) – Malibu Boats earned their 5th consecutive Boat of the Year Award from PowerBoat Magazine on April 22nd, in Miami, FL. The awards were selected after the magazine's rigorous Performance Trials conducted in Parker, Ariz., Sarasota, Fla., and San Diego, Cal. More than 45 performance boats were evaluated independently by two teams.

Soven, current World Wakeboard Champion, winner of the 2004 X Games and IWSF Rider of the Year in 2004 has long trained with Malibu team members Chad Sharpe, Brian Grubb, Jeff Weatherall and Dallas Friday and is excited to become a member of this team.

Tigé Boats, Inc. announced today the addition of two key administrative personnel with the appointment of Tiffany Landers as Assistant Controller and Michelle Owings as Information Technology Specialist. Landers will focus on essential accounting functions including general ledger, payroll, and accounts receivable. She will also generate the quarterly and yearly financial reports, develop effective strategies for overall cost efficiency and handle end of month closings. Landers received a bachelor's degree in Finance from Texas A&M University and a master's degree from the University of Houston - Victoria in December of 2005. MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour Acworth, GA Sunday, May 07, 2006Adkison Wins His First-Ever Tour Title As '06 Season Kicks Off Andrew Adkison won his first-ever MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour title today in Acworth, Georgia just outside of Atlanta. Born in neighboring state Tennessee, Adkison soared through the first Tour stop of the year winning his final match up of the day beating JD Webb. Seeded #2, Adkison, a MasterCraft team rider, knocked off the #1 seed of the contest Daniel Watkins in today's semifinals before beating the #5 seed Webb. He also had to beat the #3 seed Danny Harf in the quarterfinals. Adkison now takes the lead on the season-long Indmar Performance Award which signifies the season Tour champion. This weekend, the tour debuted its new competition format where each rider in the field is seeded and placed into two 16-seeded brackets. Single elimination in head-to-head match-ups bring the field down to a round of 16, 8, 4 and then a match-up of the winning riders from each bracket. Judging by reaction of the riders and fans along the shore, the format was a huge success.

MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour Acworth, GA Saturday, May 06, 2006 Big upsets today as the MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour kicked off its 2006 season in Acworth, Georgia outside of Atlanta. In a new format where riders are seeded, the #1, #2, and #4 seeds all fell on one side of the bracket. The upsets all occurred in bracket B where #1 seed Brett Eisenhauer, #2 seed Phillip Soven and #4 seed Chad Sharpe failed to advance to the elite eight.
Pulling the upsets were #8 seed Jeff Weatherall knocking off Eisenhauer, #15 seed Shaun Murray who is competing after a two-year layoff from competition beating Soven while #5 seed JD Webb topping Sharpe. Weatherall and Webb both advanced to the round of eight, while Murray was eliminated in the second round of the day by #10 seed Shane Bonifay.

Acworth, GA - On Thursday, Lake Allatoona in Acworth, Georgia became the site for the MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour's first event of 2006 where over 200 riders battled for just a few qualifying spots for the rest of the events in the '06 Pro Wakeboard Tour season.
Thursday was a chance for riders to make a name for themselves. Nearly 70 Pro Men Wakeboarders and 50 Pro Wakeskaters were fighting for just 16 qualifying spots each. One of those riders to earn a spot in the next round and a chance to compete the rest of the season on the Pro wakeboard Tour was Atlanta native Corey Bradley. Bradley, is in his second year competing in the Pro Men's division. He finished in 23rd place in the final Pro Wakeboard Tour season standings in '05.
