Rock-N-Ride College Wakeboard Tour

rock-n-ride-posterSAN MARCOS, TX (September 18th, 2007) – The Hot Tamales Rock-N-Ride College Wakeboard Tour comes to Texas State University in San Marcos on Saturday, September 29th. It’s the fifth and final stop of the series which has already visited Syracuse University, University of North Carolina, Vanderbilt University and the University of Cincinnati. This event is FREE to the public and will take place in the shadows of Bobcat Stadium located at 1100 Aquarena Springs Drive.

The development of the high-speed, gas-powered winch is one of the newest and most exciting progressions in wakeboarding's young history. It has given riders, who are pulled by winches, the ability to take their sport to the streets with the use of portable pools, separated by rails and sliders. Called a Pool-Gap or a Rail Jam, this is action sports up-close and in-your-face and it’s as exciting for the riders as it is for spectators.

Scheduled to perform at the wakeboard rail jam will be Liquid Force Wakeboard pro team rider Tom Fooshee and Byerly Wakeskate pro team rider Brett Little. Both Texas based riders are regulars on the Pro Wakeboard Tour and are featured regularly in national industry publications Alliance Wakeboard and Wakeboarding Magazine. Fooshee is featured on the cover of the August 2007 issue. They are also both full time students at Texas State University. Tom and Bret will be joined by several other top local riders and additional pro riders representing the Hyperlite Pro Wakeboard Team.

The pro wakeboard set-up in San Marcos will feature three portable pools filled with over 50,000 gallons of water and connected with a “kicker” ramp and a 30 foot slider rail and powered by a high-speed winch, all provided by Orlando based action sports producers, Step-Up Productions.

This FREE action sports demo is a program of the LBJ Student Center sponsored by the SACA. Action starts at 7:00pm. In addition to Hot Tamales Candy, the event is sponsored in part by Hyperlite Wakeboards, Mastercraft Boats, Lucy’s Barfish Lounge and Wakeworld.com. The event is being produced by Step-Up Productions and A&L Enterprises.

Replica jerseys are becoming rapidly popular as regular attire. You will notice many teenagers donning a Bill Russell or Oscar Robertson jersey in pubs, colleges and discos.
In fact, nfl jerseys even individuals who are not NFL fans have started wearing these jerseys as a style statement. Wholesale jerseys are only the beginning in terms of what you can expect to find online now.

RE:
Snowboarding's growing popularity is reflected in its recognition as an official sport: in 1985, the first World Cup was held in Zürs, Austria. The International Snowboard Association (ISA) was founded in 1994 to provide universal contest regulations. In addition, the United States of America Snowboard Association (USASA) provides instructing guidelines and runs snowboard competitions in the U.S. Today, high-profile snowboarding events like the Olympic Games, Winter X-Games, US Open, and other events are broadcast worldwide. Many alpine resorts have terrain parks.

Initially, ski areas adopted the sport at a much slower pace than the winter sports public. Indeed, for many years, there was animosity between skiers and snowboarders, which lead to an ongoing skier vs snowboarder feud.[8] Early snowboards were banned from the slopes by park officials. For several years snowboarders would have to take a small skills assessment prior to being allowed to ride the chairlifts. It was thought that an unskilled snowboarder would wipe the snow off of the mountain. In 1985, only seven percent of U.S. ski areas allowed snowboarding,[9] with a similar proportion in Europe. As equipment and skills improved, gradually snowboarding became more accepted. In 1990, most major ski areas had separate slopes for snowboarders. Now, approximately 97% of all ski areas in North America and Europe allow snowboarding, and more than half have jumps, rails and half pipes.

Dimitri Milovich, an east coast surfer, had the idea of sliding on cafeteria trays. From this he started developing his snowboard designs. In 1975, he started a company called the WinterStick, which was mentioned in 1975 by Newsweek magazine. The Winterstick was based on the design and feel of a surfboard, but worked the same way as skis.[4] In the spring of 1976 Welsh skateboarders Jon Roberts and Pete Matthews developed a Plywood deck with foot bindings for use on the Dry Ski Slope at the school camp, Ogmore-by-Sea, Wales. UK. Further development of the board was limited as Matthews suffered serious injury while boarding at Ogmore and access for the boarders was declined following the incident. The 'deck' was much shorter than current snow boards. Beveled edges and a convex, polyurethane varnished bottom to the board, allowed quick downhill movement, but limited turning ability.

Great information
Some traditional types of eastern gardens, such as Zen gardens, use plants such as parsley. Xeriscape gardens use local native plants that do not require irrigation or extensive use of other resources while still providing the benefits of a garden environment. Gardens may exhibit structural enhancements, sometimes called follies, including water features such as corporate gifts fountains, ponds (with or without fish), waterfalls or creeks, dry creek beds, statuary, arbors, trellises and more.
